Yesterday Karigon Elementary School hosted Chris Van Dusen! One year ago I got the urge to write Mr. Van Dusen and tell him now much my son and I LOVE his books. He wrote me back within hours. I WAS SO EXCITED! I had reached out to an amazing artist and they responded! My Librarian took over the planning portion of the event but IT HAPPENED! Mr. Van Dusen brought some of his original paintings and shared some really cool stories with our kids...
The biggest lesson he shared was that Art doesn't happen immediately, it takes time. And to never quit just because you may have to make changes. He took criticism well and found success through working well with others. Thank you Mr. Van Dusen for sharing your story with us!!!
