This year 7th grade watched the shortened Oprah version of Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture". We discussed the topic of cancer, and achieving your childhood dreams. Randy Pausch (who passed away in July of this year from Pancreatic Cancer) is a personal hero of mine and I really wanted to integrate his positive philosophy in my classroom. The kids were great. We rolled out so BIG paper and DREW BIG! Students illustrated one of their childhood dreams.
